Our Values

Learn a little bit about what it means to be a part of the Bendigo Hawks family...

Our Motto: "Hawks Fly Higher"

  • We nurture aquatic excellence
  • We are champions of fun & friendships
  • We develop courageous competitors

Bendigo Hawks Aquatic is a not-for-profit, committee administered and governed sporting club which was proudly established in 2011 following the amalgamation of Eaglehawk Swimming Club (Est. 1966) and Bendigo Swimming Club (Est. 1917).

The club has two home pools, the indoor Peter Krenz Leisure Centre in Eaglehawk for the cooler months (May to August) and the outdoor Faith Leech Aquatic Centre in Bendigo during the warmer months (September to April) with excellent club-room facilities at each venue.

Our members regularly swim in central Victoria, the broader regional Victoria and in metropolitan Melbourne, representing the Hawks at local Club level as well as Country, State and National Championship level. Our members are supported by six dedicated swimming coaches who work collaboratively with each other to refine technique while building strength and endurance. Membership numbers continue to build. We hit our target of 150 members by the end of 2023 and continue to grow our membership (now 160) as each month of 2024 passes.

At the Swimming Victoria annual awards we were proud to have been recognised for our community focus, swimming program and excellence in good governance and management, as the winner of the 2023 Victorian Swimming Club of the Year award.

Train and Compete, Learn and Grow

We're a competitive swimming club. But, for us, training and competing is only half of what we're about. We believe that through a commitment to competitive swimming we can help your child develop many other personal qualities that will serve them well in their community and in life... and they'll learn to swim fast, get super-fit, have fun and make good friends in the process.

Family

We're here for all your family. We want the whole of your family to enjoy the benefits of being a part of our Club. We welcome every contribution you can make at any level. No matter how small it may seem, it's the accumulation of all the small things that make the Club great!

Community

We've been an important part of the Bendigo and Eaglehawk communities - since 1917. And we're just as involved today. Our Club thrives because of the great support we get from our local community and our children grow because of that. They'll learn what it means to give and receive support so that everyone can win.

The Good Enough Initiative

Its with great excitement we welcome the first of our new Hawks Ambassadors, Jayne Robinson, founder of The Good Enough Initiative. With a passion for personal growth and a deep appreciation for unlocking the potential within, Jayne is a performance coach and owner of JR Coaching.

Jayne’s passion project, The Good Enough Initiative, is a learning and development journey intended to short-circuit the time it takes to bring about change in a young person's life, built on insights and Jayne’s own personal experiences growing up in Regional Victoria. We are super excited to have Jayne sharing her knowledge with our Club and our Young Hawks, helping everyone to better understand what holds us back in life.

About the Good Enough Initiative: The Good Enough Initiative provides a head start around building confidence and living with certainty, helping young people to stop "playing small" and to be comfortable in exploring who they are and what they are capable of achieving.
