We work in partnership with three of Bendigo's most important facility managers to deliver to our members an enviable and unprecedented swimming environment for training and competition at the Peter Krenz Leisure Centre in Eaglehawk, the Faith Leech Aquatic Centre in the heart of Bendigo and the new Gurri Wanyarra Wellbeing Centre in Kangaroo Flat.
Our home at Eaglehawk is set in the beautiful Canterbury Gardens by Lake Neangar in the centre of Eaglehawk's sporting and recreational hub.
Managed by the Bendigo Regional YMCA on behalf of the City of Greater Bendigo the facility houses our heated indoor, six-lane, 50m competition pool, basketball court, gymnasium and many other community rooms. Our spacious, modern and well-equipped club rooms are located right on the pool deck!
Across the colder months our swimmers train every day in comfort at Eaglehawk. Club Time Trial events are held here on a regular basis as are Club social events, meetings and development programs.
Our relationship with the Bendigo Regional YMCA at our Eaglehawk home continues into its third decade. Our past achievements in our community and achievements yet to be realised can be attributed to that strong and long-lasting relationship.
Named in honour of the late Faith Leech, Bendigo's first Olympic Gold medalist and member of our founding club, the Bendigo Swimming Club, this is Central Victoria's premier outdoor aquatic facility. Set in the heart of town, adjacent to Rosalind Park and the Queen Elizabeth Oval, our Club is easily accessible from all parts of Bendigo.
In the warmer months our training program relocates to this facility so the swimmers can enjoy the abundant fresh air and sunshine.
Our club rooms, on the entry mezzanine at Faith Leech, provide a panoramic view of the swimming pool and the surrounding lush, green lawns. There we have a well-equipped kitchen which is available for all members to use, ample room for meetings and Club functions as well as space for swimmers to relax and socialise or perhaps do a little study before training. The club rooms are fitted out with equipment to support our year-round dry-land training program.
Our relationship with Belgravia Leisure, who manage the Faith Leech Aquatic Centre, was further strengthened when they won the right to also manage the Gurri Wanyarra Wellbeing Centre on behalf of the people of Bendigo.
The Gurri Wanyarra Wellbeing Centre is Bendigo's newest aquatic facility. This fabulous indoor facility is one of the best in Victoria, boasting a competition-class pool with a movable boom allowing it to be easily and quickly setup in 25m or 50m configuration.
Our famed three-part Winter Series is held at Gurri Wanyarra each year. The first two meets are run in a Short Course configuration with the final round as Long Course.
This state-of-the-art facility was chosen by the Australian Dolphins to prepare for the World Short Course Championships in December 2022.
